Origins
"Amish Bent Oak Rockers" all started when my brother and I were visiting John's, one of our Amish friends. We both fell in love with the bent oak rocking chairs he and his son's were building. These rockers were the most comfortable chairs we had ever sat in. I bought one of the chairs on the spot for my Mother's birthday present. As we started investigating Johns workshop we were amazed at the craftsmanship, time and love these gentlemen put into these rockers. John's son started telling us the process of how the chairs were built. He explained how the wood was sawn from large logs at their sawmill and dried down at the sawmill. After drying the wood was then brought up to the workshop where it is cut, bent, sanded and made into the most beautiful rocking chairs. We were both quite taken by the craftsmanship and ingenuity with which they worked. We talked with John and his sons about the markets they sold their chairs in and found they needed more outlets to sell their rockers, so that's how "Amish Bent Oak Rockers" began. We also will be adding primitive furniture in the future, so check out the web site often and watch us grow.
Bent Oak Wood
All our rockers are made from 100% white oak. All the wood is cut, sawn and crafted in Northwest Missouri by Amish craftsman.
Please Note
Bear in mind that all of our products are made of wood. Wood sometimes splits, cracks, and checks. This is inherent in the material and is sometimes unavoidable. Your piece "stays alive", depending on the finish, temperature, and humidity at its final destination.
If they occur at all, these imperfections add to the "antiquity" of the piece.
Guarantee
If any of our products fail to perform as advertised, we will make every reasonable effort to repair, replace, or credit you to your satisfaction.
